Salary
The salary range for this position is $18.35 min, $25.50 mid, $32.63 max, Pay Ban 75 .
Offered salary is determined based on education and experience qualifications.
Purpose of Position
This position will serve as the principal investigator for the Department of Health’s Minority Health Grant. This position will direct, organize and supervise the research, design, development and analytical work associated with the grant’s work products: Health Disparities Report Card, Standardized Minority Health Data Categories, CLAS Standards, Health Disparities Conference, and mini-grants related to four Health Disparities issues. This position will also oversee the work of the Department Native American Liaison whose charge is to develop will also conduct epidemiological investigations relating to environmental health, public health, and mental health to assist the department in developing policy priorities and identifying best practices to reduce or eliminate health disparities in the state’s minority populations.
Educational requirements
Master degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Education, Human or Social Services.
Experience
Five (5) years in public health, health disputes, and/or dealing with complex health data sets and statistical methods.
Supplemental Skills/Abilities
Experience in data analysis and working with community based public health programs, report writing, work processing and working with spreadsheets and data bases is not required to qualify for this position but may be helpful.
Working Environment
Work in an office setting, sitting for long periods at a computer, extensive in-state travel, meet with local agencies and community-based providers. May require some out-of -state travel to meet with federal agencies and conferences. Walking, bending and lifting up to 40 lbs.
